Calibration requirements can be found in various pertinent standards of dynamic pile testing, such as ASTM D4945. Typically, the required frequency of calibration suggested by these documents is 2 years. Nevertheless, strain transducers and accelerometers that have been repaired or were exposed to extreme conditions (heat, cold, lateral shock, excessive axial shock, etc.) should be calibrated more frequently.
CALIBRATION of dynamic testing equipment
EMP provides calibration certificates for Pile Driving Analyzer, strain transducers and accelerometers, Pile Integrity Tester, Cross-Hole Analyzer. A technician will calibrate the PDA/sensors and issue new certificate to the client.
Strain Transducer Calibrator is used for calibration of PDI strain transducers. After calibration, the 8G smart transducer will be re-programmed with the new calibration factor.
Manual Accelerometer Calibrator is used for calibration of both PE and PR accelerometer. After calibration, the 8G smart accelometer will be re-programmed with the new calibration factor.
PIT Calibrator - During calibration, a repair technician thoroughly checks the Main Unit and the time base accuracy. The recalibration of the PIT Main Unit will help ensure the PIT's proper performance
The Cross Hole Analyzer model CHAMP/CHAMPQ is calibrated using a Cross-Hole Analyzer calibrator and it allows engineers to check the signal at the receiver probe.
